Hilary\, Market Drayton.\nRemaining physically active is vital to overall health and well-being\, but as we age\, we’re more likely to be less active\, resulting in a loss of strength and balance and an increased risk of falling.\nCommunity Resource delivers the ‘Functional Fitness MOT’ programmes which is designed to help to reduce the risk of falling for older people.\nThe event includes:\n  *   One-to-one fitness tests measuring strength\, balance\, flexibility and stamina\n  *   A short informative film\n  *   An interactive demonstration to include how to get up safely from the floor after a fall\n  *   Calling for help\n  *   Gentle Exercises – with our trained and qualified instructor\, you will be guided in gentle exercise for 30 minutes\nFunctional Fitness MOTs are open to people aged 60 – 95.\nPlaces are limited\, so please book in advance by phoning the Community Resource team on 01743 360641 or email enquiries@community-resource.org.uk and we will contact you to discuss the details.\nAttendance is free but charitable donations are gratefully received.\nWe offer a range of falls prevention events\, so if you are interested in having an event at your venue please email enquiries@community-resource.org.uk and we will contact you to discuss the details.

DESCRIPTION:Community Resource hosts a number of Hearing Loss Support Hubs around the county. These hubs are staffed by Audiology-trained volunteers and are suitable for NHS hearing aid wearers who need:\n  *   Hearing aids retubed\n  *   Battery collection\n  *   Advice on hearing care\nAppointments for the hubs must be pre-booked – please contact us on 01743 360641 to reserve your place.\nIf you need help with your hearing aid and you have obtained your aid through the hospital audiology service you can attend one of their community clinics across the county.
