SUMMARY:Move to Thrive - for people with dementia & their carers
DESCRIPTION:Move to Thrive provides movement to music activity sessions especially for people with dementia and their carers. Led by a qualified instructor with refreshments before and after each session\, allowing time for social interaction\, sessions are held weekly in a venue in Oakengates.\nSessions are £5 per person with dementia per session (carers are free). DESCRIPTION:Stroke Awareness\nHave you experienced a stroke? Do you know someone or care for someone who is living as a stroke survivor? If you would like to find out more about living after a stroke\, or if you would like to understand more about stroke risk factors and how to minimise the risk of future strokes\, this workshop is for you.\nThe workshop includes:\nAn informative presentation on stroke\, that covers measures to minimise the risk of stroke\, how to recognise early signs of a stroke\, emergency treatment and what to expect after a stroke\nA recorded question and answer session with a stroke nurse specialist at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust\nInformation on resources which provide support for stroke survivors\, carers and loved ones\nFree introductory exercise taster session\nPlaces are limited\, so please book in advance by phoning the Community Resource team on 01743 360641 or email healthevents@community-resource.org.uk and we will contact you to discuss the details.\nAttendance is free but charitable donations are gratefully received.
