Year One Impact Report Published for Employability and Enterprise Programme

We are proud to announce the publication of the year one Impact Report for the Employability and Enterprise Programme, a transformative initiative supporting young people across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

Funded by the Lintel Trust, and delivered in partnership with ourselves (Community Resource), The Foundation, Shrewsbury Town FC’s charitable arm, SYA, and Shropshire Youth Support Trust (SYST), this three year programme is offering opportunities  for young people aged 14 to 30 to gain new skills, confidence, and support them with what they need to build brighter futures.

Through a person-centred approach, the programme helps participants build confidence, develop essential life skills, and raise aspirations. From volunteering and career coaching to enterprise workshops, wellbeing support and mentoring, the impact has already made a significant difference for many young people in our county.

Here’s what the partners have to say about the programme

Joe Green – Youth Engagement Lead STFC foundation

“The Gamechangers programme shows how collaboration can spark real change. This report not only celebrates the impact so far but sets an inspiring benchmark for what we can achieve together in the future.”

Kerry Williams – Area Youth Manager SYA

“This year, we have provided tailored weekly sessions for black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) youth, young families, and over-18s with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), led by experienced youth workers.

These sessions have fostered peer support and social connections.”

Kim Thompson-Lawrence – Community Resource Project Team Lead, Employability & Enterprise Programme

“This partnership is making a real difference for young people across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. Together, we are tackling isolation, building confidence and opening up opportunities in employment, education and enterprise. We are proud of what has been achieved and excited about what we can accomplish next.”

The year one report highlights the stories, successes, and statistics that show how this programme is making a real difference. Whether it’s helping someone take their first steps into employment or inspiring a young person to start their own business, the results speak for themselves.

We invite you to read the report, be inspired by the journeys of young people across our county and find out how you can get involved.  Whether you are a young person looking for support, a professional keen to collaborate, or a community member who wants to help.
