Join us for a weekend of colour, creativity and community spirit as Wellington Open Gardens returns on June 27 and 28.
Across one special weekend, beautiful private gardens in and around Wellington will open their gates to the public. From peaceful green corners and imaginative planting to hidden courtyards and vibrant borders, each space offers something unique to discover.

We want everyone to have an enjoyable and safe visit to Wellington Open Gardens. As these are privately owned gardens, accessibility and conditions vary, and some locations may be more challenging to navigate than others.
We recommend reviewing the information below in advance to help you plan your visit and decide which gardens are most suitable for your needs.
General safety information
Please take care when visiting and be aware that gardens may include:
- uneven ground surfaces (grass, gravel, tree roots)
- narrow or uneven paths, with limited access in some areas
- steps, slopes and changes in level
- ponds, water features and garden structures
We recommend wearing appropriate footwear and taking your time when moving around.
Children
Children are very welcome but must be supervised at all times, particularly near water features and uneven ground.
Weather Conditions
The weather is set to be warm, please take precautions:
- bring water to stay hydrated
- wear sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
- take breaks as needed
Please be aware of the risk of heat exhaustion, sunburn, or dehydration in hot weather.

- access: narrow path (not accessible for wheelchair users) and steps leading to the garden
- 62 Barnfield Crescent, Wellington, TF1 2EX
- terrain: steep slopes and uneven lawn
- hazard: pond
- Upper Farm House, Rushton, Telford, TF6 5AG
- hazard: deep koi pond
- access: road closed signs on road to house only apply on weekdays – access will be unaffected on Saturday and Sunday
- access: outdoor staircase to viewing platform
- 7 Minsterley Close, Dothill, Telford, TF1 3BF
- access: garden open 10am to 4pm Saturday / not open Sunday
- access: not accessible for wheelchair users or walking frames
- access: narrow, winding and uneven paths with limited access in parts
- access: steps into greenhouse and additional step down to enter
- hazard: small pond
- 26 Woodford Green, Telford, TF5 0NS
- access: garden open 10am to 4pm
- 29 Apley Castle, Apley, Telford, TF1 6RH
- parking: take a right turn at the very end of Apley Castle Road, then a left turn after passing through the gates
- Sunnycroft Garden (National Trust):
- parking at Sunnycroft is limited to Blue Badge holders only.
- there are several free public car parks in Wellington, all within a short and easy walk of the gardens
