- Regional Groups: Teams are grouped regionally to minimize travel time.
- Flexible Participation: Teams of up to four can change members each month. Villages with lots of interest can even enter two teams!
- Grand Final: Winners from the regional groups compete in April for the championship trophy.

We supports local groups, charities and community organisations to grow with confidence. We connect people who care with causes that need support through our grants for community groups and organisations.
We also support village halls and community buildings through our membership scheme, and offer simple energy‑saving advice for households.
The team is LIQA accredited, providing reassurance that you can reply on trusted expertise, practical solutions and strong advocacy. It recognises our experience and our commitment to offering high-quality support to Shropshire’s voluntary and community sector.

We can help you to understand how much your appliances cost to run, highlighting where you could make savings, and also help you to access further support if you are in debt with your energy supplier.

Our Advice and Support Service for community buildings and village halls is available via our community buildings and village halls membership scheme.
Village halls members also have access to specialist information from ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England), our national representative body. Members will also get free entry to the ACRE Hallmark Quality Standard.

Shropshire Village Halls Quiz League
Do you have four or more people in your village or nearby who enjoy quizzes? If so, we invite you to take part in the Shropshire Village Halls Quiz League!
Join the fun and test your knowledge!
What is it?
A series of 6 quiz evenings from October to March, culminating in a Grand Final in April. Teams from across Shropshire compete in a friendly, fun environment to win great prizes, including:
- 4 bottles of wine for the winning team each evening.
- Chocolate prizes for the team winning the fun quiz during the refreshment break.
Shropshire Village Halls Quiz League
- Teams are open to anyone, not just Village Hall Committee members.
- Participants can come from neighboring parishes
- Annual Entry Fee:
- £10 for Shropshire Community Resource affiliated members.
- £15 for non-affiliated halls.
- Quiz Night Fee: £2.50 per person, paid to the host hall for refreshments like tea, coffee, and cake.
If the host hall doesn’t have a bar, you’re welcome to bring your own drinks.
- Host Fundraising: Enjoy a popular raffle while showcasing your village hall.
- Community Spirit: An opportunity to bring your village together for a night of fun and connection.
We’re looking for volunteers to join the quiz-master team as:
- Comperes for quiz evenings.
- Question Setters or both!
Our experienced team (Mike, David, and Sylvia) will provide full guidance and support.
