Rising energy costs and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis mean thousands of households are facing impossible choices — between heating and eating, or between staying warm and having hot water to clean and shower.
Community Resource’s annual Warmer Winter campaign is a vital fundraising appeal that helps vulnerable people stay warm, well, and connected during the coldest months. With many rural homes off the gas grid and reliant on expensive heating fuels like oil or solid fuel, the need is more urgent than ever. The campaign raises funds to provide small but meaningful grants to individuals and families at risk of fuel poverty. Every donation helps bring warmth, comfort, and hope to those who need it most.
Our region is particularly vulnerable. Many homes are rural and not connected to the mains gas grid, relying instead on expensive heating methods like oil, bottled gas, or solid fuels. Poor insulation and older housing stock make it even harder to stay warm.
