Community Resource receives National Lottery funding to strengthen local community support

Helping more communities access the support they need

Local groups do incredible work, often powered by volunteers and a small number of dedicated staff. We know that running a community groups, organisation or charity can bring challenges around funding, policies, reporting, governance and recruiting the right staff and volunteers. With this new funding, we can offer even more hands on help so community groups, organisations and charities feel confident, prepared and supported as they grow and become sustainable.

The groups we support are often the ones least likely to seek help. They include small volunteer led organisations in rural communities, neighbourhood projects working with very limited budgets, and charities striving to keep up with increasing demand. The funding allows us to continue supporting them and to offer even more help to local groups.

A trusted organisation supporting local groups

Alongside this new funding, Community Resource continues to hold NAVCA’s Local Infrastructure Quality Accreditation (LIQA). We are the only organisation in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin to have achieved this accreditation, which recognises the quality and consistency of the support we provide.

Rather than focusing on the accreditation itself, what matters most is what it represents. For the groups we work with, it means they can trust that the advice and guidance they receive is reliable, informed and designed to make a real difference. The National Lottery investment allows us to build on this strong foundation and offer even more support where it’s needed most.

What this means for local communities

Alli Richardson, Head of Service at Community Resource has spoken about what this funding means for locoal communities

“We’re thrilled to receive this funding. It will help us give more time, to offer more practical support and more encouragement to the groups who make such a difference in their local areas. Every day we see how hard community organisations work, and this support from National Lottery players helps us be right there beside them every step of the way.”

This funding will strengthen the hands-on support we already provide. Enabling us to listen even more closely to the needs of local communities, respond effectively and flexibly, and make our services even easier to access for those who need them most. Whether someone is starting a new community idea or leading a an existing long standing group, organisation or charity. Our aim is to continue to be a helpful and trusted partner.

We’re grateful to National Lottery players for making this possible, and we look forward to working with more groups and volunteers in the months ahead.
