Living Well with Dementia, Sight and Hearing Loss exhibition returns to Shrewsbury in 2026

Event details

People across Shropshire are invited to join us for the 2026 Living Well with Dementia, Sight and Hearing Loss exhibition. The event takes place on Tuesday 16 June 2026 from 10.00am to 3.00pm at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury.

Delivered in partnership by Community Resource, Sight Loss Shropshire and Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury and Oswestry, the exhibition will bring together more than 70 organisations offering advice, information, services and hands on support in one place. Entry is free.

Why this event matters

Karen Corcoran from Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury and Oswestry said:

“This event is so important because people living with dementia, sight loss or hearing loss, and the people who care for them, often struggle to find clear information and support in one place. By bringing together around 70 organisations, it helps people discover services, advice and practical tools that support independence and wellbeing.

It is also a chance to speak directly with experts and connect with others who understand the challenges.

For Radfield Home Care, it is a privilege to work with Community Resource and Sight Loss Shropshire to bring this event to life and show how collaboration can make a real difference for people across Shropshire.”

Who the exhibition is for?

The exhibition is for anyone living with dementia, sight loss or hearing loss, as well as family members, carers and professionals. Visitors can expect friendly conversations, practical demonstrations and helpful guidance to support independence and connection. We will be running one of our Hearing Loss support – Hearing Hub drop in sessions, sponsored by In The Loop, where we offer free support for NHS hearing aid users including re-tubing and advice from audiology staff.

There will be opportunities to try equipment, explore new technology and learn more about the support available across Shropshire.

Travel and accessibility

This year’s event includes a free shuttle bus from Shrewsbury bus and train stations, sponsored by Housing Plus Group, to make travel easier for attendees.

Our sponsors

We are grateful to our headline sponsors, Ethical Workforce Solutions and Shrewsbury U3A, whose support helps make the event possible.

Ash Nelson, Managing Director at Ethical Workforce Solutions, said:

“This exhibition brings together a wide range of organisations who can offer real, practical support for people affected by dementia, sight loss or hearing loss. Our Experiencing Dementia training helps people understand the sensory changes that can affect daily life, and events like this give the community a chance to explore information and tools that can make a genuine difference.”

Mike Reece, from Shrewsbury U3A, said:

“This event is valuable because it opens the door to support, activities and information that help people stay connected and maintain their wellbeing. At Shrewsbury U3A we see every day how important shared activities and social connection are, especially for people who may be caring for others. The exhibition gives carers and families a welcoming space to explore what is available locally and find opportunities that can help them feel supported and less isolated.”
