Hub supporting NHS hearing aid wearers to open in Madeley

Community Resource is bringing its popular service for NHS hearing aid wearers to Madeley next month.
We manage 13 Hearing Loss Support Hubs, which are free to attend for anyone who wears a hearing aid supplied by the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust Audiology departments.
The sessions are run by audiology-trained volunteers who provide information, advice and support on issues including minor hearing aid repairs, re-tubing and maintenance.
The Madeley clinic will be held at Madely Library (inside Anstice Memorial Hall), between 10am and noon every second Thursday of the month, starting on Thursday 14th March.
Appointment must be pre-booked and can be made by calling 01743 360641 or emailing SHLS@community-resource.org.uk
Susann Mitchell, Development Officer for Community Resource, said: “We held a popular clinic in the area before the pandemic, and we were keen to bring it back as we know how many people in Telford wear NHS hearing aids and would benefit from the support.
“If someone would like some advice or maintenance help with their aids, they can make an appointment and then come down to Madeley Library and speak to one of our volunteers. Many of them have hearing loss and wear hearing aids themselves so they can provide a lot of insight and share their own experiences.”
