Explore hidden gems and support your community at Wellington Open Gardens 2026

A weekend of colour and creativity
Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a weekend filled with colour, creativity and community spirit as Wellington Open Gardens returns on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2026. The event is proudly supported by Specsavers Wellington.
Across one special weekend, beautiful private gardens in and around Wellington will open their gates to the public. From peaceful green corners and imaginative planting to hidden courtyards and vibrant borders, each garden offers something unique to discover.
Supporting your local community
This much loved event raises essential funds for Community Resource, a Shropshire charity that supports people and communities facing challenges across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. Working with Love Wellington, the weekend brings garden lovers, neighbours and visitors together to celebrate everything that makes the town a vibrant and welcoming place.
Sally Themans of Love Wellington said:
“The fourth annual Open Gardens weekend is a true celebration of Wellington. By opening gates and sharing green spaces, we weave the whole community together; from seasoned horticulturists to curious neighbours and local businesses all of whom take pride in our town. This weekend is a blooming testament to why Wellington is such a special place to live, grow, and visit.”
Wellington Open Gardens gives attendees the chance to explore spaces not usually open to the public while supporting a charity that helps people stay connected, independent and well. Whether you enjoy gardening, fresh air, creative ideas or simply discovering new places on your doorstep, there is something for everyone.
Sponsors helping make the event possible
Alongside Specsavers Wellington, The Cock Hotel is once again supporting Wellington Open Gardens in 2026. Their continued sponsorship helps make the event possible and contributes to a memorable and welcoming experience for all who take part.
The support of our sponsors also plays an important role in helping us raise more funds for Community Resource. By covering essential event costs, their generosity means a greater share of the money raised can go directly to our work with people and communities across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
