Village Halls and Community Buildings Conference 2026

Supporting the people behind community buildings

If you help run a village hall or community building, the Village Halls and Community Buildings Conference 2026 is your opportunity to gain practical advice and connect with volunteers from across the county.

Community Resource is delighted to host the Village Halls and Community Buildings Conference 2026 for Community Buildings members and those interested in joining our membership network.

For the first time, the conference will take place at two venues, giving more volunteers and trustees across Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin the opportunity to attend closer to where they live.

Whether you’re an established Community Buildings member, new to managing a community building, or interested in finding out more about membership, this conference offers practical advice, fresh ideas and valuable opportunities to network with others facing similar opportunities and challenges.

What to expect

The conference will bring together specialists, sector experts and community organisations to share practical knowledge that can help your building thrive.

Highlights include:

  • a short presentation from our main sponsor, TJB Community
  • advice on recruiting, supporting and retaining volunteers
  • an ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) awareness talk that focuses on terrorist threat, ideologies, and attack methodologies as well as reporting protocols
  • news and updates from Community Resource’s Community Connectors team
  • an introduction to the Village Halls Quiz League
  • information about training opportunities available to the voluntary and community sector
  • time to network and share experiences with volunteers from community buildings and village halls across the county

The afternoon will combine informative presentations, interactive discussions and plenty of opportunities to connect with others who understand the challenges and rewards of running a community building.

Supporting the people behind community buildings

Community buildings are at the heart of local life, creating spaces where people can meet, learn, celebrate and access support.

These important spaces rely on volunteers, trustees and management committee members who give their time, skills and energy to keep them running. The conference is designed to support those individuals with practical advice, useful connections and opportunities to learn from others in similar roles.

Headline sponsor: TJB Community

We’re grateful to TJB Community, headline sponsor of both conferences, for their support.

TJB Community helps charities, community organisations and voluntary groups identify funding opportunities, develop successful grant applications and secure funding to support their work.

What you’ll gain

The Village Halls and Community Buildings Conference is an opportunity to:

  • learn from expert speakers
  • discover new funding and training opportunities
  • stay informed about important developments affecting community buildings
  • exchange ideas with peers from across the county
  • build new connections and strengthen existing ones
  • celebrate the impact that community spaces have on local people
