Grants available to support vulnerable households in Shropshire
Community Resource is inviting voluntary and community organisations across Shropshire to apply for grants from the Household Support Fund (HSF).
Over £20,000 in funding is still available, with grants ranging from £1,000 to £4,000. These grants can help local groups provide essential support during the winter months, including:
- food and hot meals
- warm clothing
- energy and water top-ups
- household essentials
Who the fund supports
The funding is aimed at helping organisations reach underserved and marginalised communities most affected by the cost-of-living crisis. We are urging organisations to apply now so they can offer vital support during the toughest months of the year and make a meaningful difference in their communities.
How the fund is already making a difference
Several local organisations are already using the grant to support their communities:
- OsNosh (Oswestry) is supplying frozen meals to the local foodbank
- Little Stars Baby Bank is delivering coats, hats, bedding, pyjamas, and thermometers to over 120 children
- The 4 All Foundation is serving hot meals at three community hubs
- Ellesmere Food Share is providing food and toiletries to those in need
- The Shrewsbury Ark is helping homeless people access laundry, showers, warm meals, and toiletries
- Shrewsbury Food Hub is supplying surplus food to schools for breakfast clubs and break-time snacks

How to apply
Applications are open to voluntary and community organisations based in or delivering services to Shropshire residents (excluding Telford and Wrekin).
- organisations can submit one application per year
- applications are reviewed every two weeks until all funds are allocated
- deadline: Midnight on 30 November 2025
